WELCOME TO REBELLICHRON!
In this RPG-style battle simulator, you control three characters facing down waves of enemies.
Story:
A century into the future, humans have invented a form of time travel. A powerful group called the Perfection Consortium want to leverage this technology to create an ideal timeline, devoid of regret and mistakes. But they only need one, and they plan to destroy the infinitely many other “failed” timelines so that only their “pure” timeline remains. The Uncertainty Union, a ragtag group of people who want the right to learn from their mistakes without erasing them, have managed to reverse engineer some of the Consortium’s tech and are using it against them in order preserve the many imperfect timelines that would otherwise be snuffed out.
The Consortium are developing an engine that consumes timelines for energy, and will try to infiltrate the Union and/or convince them to either join or give up. The Union are trying to sabotage the engine’s development, and make time travel so messy and inconvenient that the Perfectionists have to abandon their plan from a pure efficiency standpoint.
Instructions:
Turns are governed by the time bar at the top of the screen, and split into four parts: Command, Windup, Action, and Recovery.
Command and Action are instantaneous, while Windup and Recovery last for the time shown on the bar.
Each character starts the fight in Recovery, waiting for their chance to act.
When a player character’s icon on the time bar reaches the indicator head, it’s time to give them a Command.
When awaiting a Command, time stops and you must select an ability by clicking on one of the buttons and then clicking on one of the red-indicated characters to select the target.
Each ability has an energy cost that you need to pay in order to use it, and an associated length of windup period.
Once a command has been selected, that character winds up to act. If hit while winding up, they will be staggered, taking increased damage and delaying their Action.
When a winding up character’s icon reaches the head once more, their Action will take place, dealing damage or applying effects. Then they will return to their Recovery phase.
Each character has three resource meters: a red health bar, a cyan shield meter, and a purple energy bar.
Shields take damage before health, and damage will not overflow when a shield breaks.
Your shields will refill between fights but your health will not.
Energy begins at 25% and charges at a rate of 10% every 3 seconds.
Each character also has three stats: Power, Endurance, and Speed. Each point in a stat increases its associated effect by 10%, stacking multiplicatively.
Power affects damage dealt, Endurance affects maximum Life and Shield, and Speed affects windup and recovery speed.
